琴爪入れ 這い子 完成

這い子の完成です。ハイハイしているように見えますか？
Crawling baby bag has completed. Does it look like a baby crawling?


ちゃんとハイハイしている姿勢がとても気に入っています。袋が自然な感じで体の膨らみになっています。
I really like his body shape that represents a crawling pose. The bag turns into the natural look of thickness of the body.

次に作るのも人型琴爪入れです。その前に編み物をします。
What I am going to make next is also a doll-type craft bag. But before that, I'd like to enjoy crochet!

琴爪入れ 這い子 制作途中５

そろそろ這い子を完成しなくちゃいけない、ということで続きです。よだれかけを縫いました。濃いウグイス色です。
I couldn't leave him unfinished like that any longer, so I continued working on crawling baby bag again. I made his bib with dark neutral green (this is kind of strange saying "dark neutral").


仕上げのパートです。袋の紐を通す口べり布を縫い付け、紐先の飾りを付けました。後は頭を縫い付けるだけ。
Then finishing part. I sewed bag edges where drawstrings go through and made round deco on the tip of the strings. The last part is to sew his head on the bag. That's it!

After I made this head I started other work, so he was left like this for a week...

続きまして、髪の毛の貼付けです。球体関節人形の髪の毛を使ってみました。天辺には丁髷を結っています。
Continued from yesterday's entry, I added hair to the head. I used synthetic mohair that I usually use for ball jointed dolls. He has tiny "ponytail" on the top of head.


髪の毛を綺麗に切りそろえました。
I trimmed his hair nicely.


髷は濃い緑色の刺繍糸で結いました。
His little tail is tied up with green thread.


もみあげもあります。
And sideburns.

琴爪入れ 這い子 制作途中２

新作の編みぐるみのセバスチャンが完成しました。可愛く出来たので外で撮影してからお披露目したいと思います。
My new amigurumi Sebastian is finally completed. I will introduce him after I take a good picture of him since he looks so cute!


這い子の顔を作りました。縮緬を皺なく丸く作るのがとても苦手です。今回は男の子なので頭に水色の「青剃り」を付けました。本にはボンドで貼付けるとありましたが、ボンドではうまく貼付けることが出来ず、結局縫い付けました。
I made the face for crawling baby bag. I'm not good at making perfectly round ball without wrinkle with fabric. This will be a boy so I wrapped his head with pale blue cloth, represents "freshly shaved head". The book says to do this with a glue but I think glue is not suitable for chirimen (maybe because of the rough surface of fabric). I ended up with sewing pale blue on its head.


また本は表情をアクリル絵の具で描く説明がありましたが、私は刺繍してみました。これから更にもみあげや髪の毛が付くので、バランスを見極めながら刺繍するのがちょっと大変でした。
The book says to draw facial expression with acrylic paints but I embroidered it. I need to add sideburns and hair after this, so it was a little difficult to embroider his expression making sure the balance of facial parts.

琴爪入れ 這い子 制作途中１

４７個目の琴爪入れは「這い子」です。まずは胴体から作り始めます。
The 47th crepe cloth craft bag is "crawling baby". I started making his body first.


産着はシンプルかつ可愛い麻の葉模様にしました。内袋は白のコットン。アクセントに緑を使います。
I chose this simple yet pretty hemp pattern print for baby's cloth. The bag inside will be white cotton and green for the accent.

琴爪入れ フクロウ

フクロウの琴爪入れを作ってみました。４月の春真っ盛りでしたので、春らしい色合いです。
I made owl chirimen craft bag. It was in the middle of the spring when I wasn on this, so I chose colors that remind me of spring.


フクロウは勤勉なイメージがありますが、このフクロウは色っぽい系になりました。長い睫毛と薄いグリーンのアイシャドウのせいでしょうか。
The owl has diligent image like saying "wise as an owl" but this owl is sexy type due to her long eyelashes and pale green eye shadow.


羽が綺麗なカーブを描いています。
Her wings draw beautiful curve.

琴爪入れ 唐子

琴爪入れプロジェクトもいよいよ終盤です。その中でも一番難しく一番複雑な作りだと思われる「唐子」です。
My Japanese crepe cloth project is near the end. This Karako is one of the most difficult and most complicated craft bag.
Karako is a kid who dresses in chinese cloth and has chinese hair style.


まずは布選びから悩みました。ちょうど浮き雲の落ち着いた色合いの縮緬があったので、それを上着にしてみました。それからその上着に似合いそうな布を他のパーツに選んでいきました。
First, I struggled to choose which chirimen cloth I should use. Luckily, I had this floating cloud in subdued color. I decided to use it for the coat, then chose other fabrics which looks good on it.


上着の丸縁縫いというのが分からず大変でした。たくさんのフリルは思ったよりもスムーズに出来ました。
I didn't know how to do "round-edge piping" on the edge of the coat, so I did it on my way. Lots of frills are relatvely easier to make than I expected.


頭部は一番難しかったです。人形は顔が命ですから。。。
Head and face are the most difficult part. Face is the most important part in the doll-making.


本に載っていたこの丸髷の作り方説明が本当に理解出来ませんでした。が、なんとかクリア。
The explanation of how to make this hair style was absolutely beyond my comprehension but I made it somehow.


胴体の中が袋になっていますが、中には首を差し込むための筒が仕込んであります。
Karako's body is the bag and there is a tube, which sustains Karako's head, inside of the body (bag).

琴爪入れ 朝顔

夏の花、朝顔の琴爪入れを作りました。
I made a morning glory chirimen craft bag. This flower reminds me of summer days in the childhood.


朝顔には色んな色の種類があります。赤紫、紺、ピンク、ストライプ模様等々。その中でも小さい時に好きだった薄い水色の朝顔を作ってみました。本物の朝顔はとても薄い花弁ですが、この琴爪入れの朝顔はふっくらして、とても優美なカーブを描いています。花がとてもシンプルなので葉っぱは柄物で作ってみました。紐先の蕾がなかなか難しかったです。
It has lots of color variations: dark purple, navy, pale pink, color stripes, and much more. Among them, I chose pale baby blue which I used to like when I was a child. Real morning glory has very thin flower petal but this craft bag is somewhat plump and that helps it look more elegant with its graceful curves. Since the flower itself looks very simple, I used chirimen with patterns for the leaf. It was quite difficult to make the bud on the tip of the drawstrings.


セバスチャンは元気です。
By the way, my rabbit, Sebastian, is fine.

琴爪入れ 百合

満足のいく白の縮緬が手に入ったら是非作ってみたかったもの、それが百合の琴爪入れです。
It was my dream for a long time to make this Lily chirimen bag once I obtain good white chirimen fabric.


とても写実的で縮緬で出来てるとは思えない構造の百合の袋です。琴爪入れの種類としては、作るのにかなりの技術が必要になると思われたので、これまで基礎的な琴爪入れからコツコツと勉強も兼ねて実践で作ってきて、やっと挑戦することになったのです。
It has very realistic beauty and its structure was beyond my imagination. This is a kind of craft art that is very difficult to make and needs good sewing experiences and techniques, so I have been making all sorts of chirimen bags from the basics as a training. Now my turn had come, to challenge this Lily bag.


花弁の後ろにあるこの筋も、緑色のリリヤンに白い縮緬を巻いたものなのですが、これがあるのとないのとではリアルな仕上がりに雲泥の差が出ます。これを付けるのもかなりの手間になるのですが、こういう細かいところまで再現しようと考えついた作者は本当に偉大だと思います。
The lines on the back of the petals, that is green lily yarns wrapped with white chirimen, make a great difference between one with it and without it. It does take time to add these lines for sure, but I think the one who came up with this fine details deserves all our respect.

琴爪入れ シロツメクサ

ちょっと前に完成したシロツメクサの琴爪入れを紹介します。
I'd like to introduce Japanese crepe cloth craft bag "White clover", which was finished a while ago.


以前アカツメクサの方は作りました。このお人形の頭につけているものです。この時にはまだ縮緬を持っておらず、手元にあったピンクのコットンでなんとか作り上げました。
I made red clover bag long time ago. You can see it on the doll's head. At that time, I didn't have chirimen cloth (Japanese crepe cloth) so I had to use pink cotton broad instead.


縮緬の漂白が上手に出来るようになって、自分でも気に入った白が作り出せるようになり、待ってました！とばかりにシロツメクサの制作に乗り出しました。蛍光塗料のような真っ白白ではなく、抑え気味な控え気味なソフトな白です。
I was soooo excited because I learned how to bleach my old chirimen cloth pretty good and now I can make white clover and other white flowers using this soft white chirimen, not like neon paint bright bright white.


花の部分は外から中心になるほどに薄い緑から白に変化していく様にしたかったのですが、こうして２色を使うのではなく、花弁の１つ１つをグラデーションに染色した方が雰囲気があって良かったかもしれません。まだグラデーション染色の技術がない私にはこれが限界です。袋にはクローバーの葉っぱも蕾もついています。
I wanted to make the flower color gradually changed from pale green to white as it goes to the center of the flower. In order to make it, I'd have better done using chirimen which was dyed nice gradation of pale green and white for each petal, not using 2 colors like I did. But this is the best I could do at the moment, with my fabric dye skills. This white clover bag has three-leaf clover and two buds on the tip of the drawstrings.

琴爪入れ 紫陽花 完成

やっと紫陽花が完成しました。
The hydrangea bag I was making is finally completed.


花の色は濃いブルーグレイ、水色、薄いグリーンの３色です。紐先の丸はつぼみっぽく青と薄いグリーンにしてみました。
It consists of three flower colors: dark blue-gray, pale blue-gray, and very pale green. The balls on the tip of the drawstrings are dark blue-gray and pale green like hydrangea buds.


紐をきゅっと引き絞って袋を閉じると、袋全体がとても綺麗な球状になるのが気に入っています。
I really like the sphere shape of the bag when those drawstrings are pulled to close the bag.

琴爪入れ 紫陽花 制作途中４

紫陽花の琴爪入れの仕上げをしました。
I did some finishing touches for chirimensaiku "hydrangea bag" today.


内袋は水色のコットンで作りました。
Inner bag is made of pale blue cotton.


口べり布をつけて紐を通しました。
The pockets for drawstrings made and two cords went through these pockets.


葉っぱも２枚作りました。葉脈はアウトラインステッチで。刺繍は少し苦手です。
I made two leaves, that will go with hydrangea. Then embroider the veins of the leaves, which is not my favorite procedure all the time.

じわじわと紫陽花が完成に近づいています。
Hydrangea bag is approaching to its completion little by little.


本には花は最低で３５個必要、という説明を載せていましたが、やはり３５個だと隙間が目立って気になります。
Japanese crepe cloth craft book says this hydrangea bag needs at least 35 flowers. I need more than 35, indeed. I don't like these empty spaces.


全部でだいたい４０個か４１個でしょうか。これ以上はキリがないのでこのくらいで増やすのを止めておきます。次は葉っぱと仕上げです。
So I made about 40~41 flowers and it looks better now. It is endless to put flowers on those empty spaces. Next step is making leaves and giving it finishing touches.

琴爪入れ 紫陽花 制作途中２

紫陽花を作っているのですが、ただいま萼を作っては土台袋に縫い付けています。１５個終わったところ。最低で３５個必要なので、まだまだ先は長いです。

花弁だけで２８０枚以上必要なのです。


休憩に薔薇の黒茶を飲んでいます。薔薇の花びらが入っていて、とても優しい柔らかい香りが黒茶に合います。


色もとても綺麗です。

縮緬細工 ミニ犬張り子

今日は琴爪入れではない縮緬細工の紹介です。


以前から作ってみたかったミニ犬張り子です。つり草飾りにぶら下げられるサイズなのでとても小さいですが、結構凝っていますし、あるべきパーツも全てある優れものです。


小さくてもちゃんと背の上には飾り布がかかってますし、立派な首輪には３つも鈴がついてます。このせいか、前方に重心がかかり、コテッと顔から床に突っ込んでしまうことも。


以前作った普通サイズ（これが普通サイズかどうか分かりませんが）の犬張り子と並べてみると、こんなにも大きさが違います。ズラーッとサイズの違う子達を作って並べるのも楽しそうです。


チャーミーが乗るとぴったり。

琴爪入れ 牡丹・山茶花

今回作っている琴爪入れは全部で５５個になる予定です。そろそろ後半戦、残った琴爪入れ達は難易度の高いものや作るのに時間のかかるものばかりです。


牡丹です。今迄作っていたのが比較的小さめのサイズのものだったせいか、この牡丹の大きさには驚きました。作品としては今迄の中で一番大きい？


山茶花です。この一つの作品に今迄培ってきた琴爪入れ制作の技術が詰まっています。花弁もおしべも紐先もガクも、みんな難しかったです。


どこから見ても綺麗です。

琴爪入れ 紙風船・春駒

琴爪入れの紹介に戻ります。昨年度は琴爪入れをよく作りました。


「おもちゃシリーズ」です。紙風船と春駒です。おもちゃシリーズは２個しかありません。両者ともかなり小さいです。つるし飾りというよりもつり草飾りですね。


無地と柄物の配置に気を使いました。とても小さいので可愛いです。紐先の玉もかなりの小ささで作っていて指先が痛くなるほど。


春駒も小さかったです。たてがみが難しかったです。のほほんとした顔が気に入っています。内側はちゃんと袋になっています。


チャーミーが乗るとぴったりの大きさ？元気に育てよ！

琴爪入れ ふきのとう・つくし

昨日に引続き「春の植物」シリーズです。ふきのとうとつくし。


実はまだ一度も自然のふきのとうを見たことがない私。。。食べたことがあるのかも謎。つくしは小さい頃によく集めてました。


ご覧の通り、とても複雑な構造になってます。パーツが多く、それらを組み立てていくにしたがって、だんだん形になっていくので楽しかったです。こんな面白い袋物って珍しいです。


覚悟はしていましたが、やはり細い！色々反省点もあります。ガクの根元をもっとキュッと引き絞った方がいいだろうとか、ガクは両面接着芯で２枚重ねの裁ち切りですが、細かくても縫って表に返した方が良かったんじゃないかとか。頭の緑の絞り縮緬が気に入っています。
